Saturday, July 7, 2018 – The Dallas Five Throwdown & Fundraising Event (2nd Annual)
Teams of two will compete in 3 separate WODs (workouts). This year, the top six teams in each division will advance to the finals and compete in a final WOD for prizes. All participants will receive a t-shirt with registration. Scorers will be provided for the event.
Teams are 2-person teams – Male/Male or Female/Female.
There will be up to four divisions in each gender. However, a minimum of 5 teams must be registered within a division by Saturday, June 30th to have a separate division.
The four divisions are as follows.
First Responders (both members must be active first responders)
Masters (40+) Rx
*If there are enough teenagers or scaled individuals who are 40+, adding separate divisions would be considered.
Rx means you can do a clear majority of named CrossFit workouts as prescribed. Athletes should be able to perform chest to bar pull-ups, toes-to-bar, and handstand push-ups for reps. Athletes should be able to lift (M = 135# W = 95#) ground to overhead and deadlift (M = 225# W = 155#) for reps.
Scaled means you scale your workouts often. Events will be a scaled version of the Rx division. As a rule of thumb, athletes should be able to do multiple reps of ground to overhead (M = 75# W = 55#) and deadlift (M = 155# W = 105#).
First responders will complete the Rx WODs. Both team members must be active first responders.
Masters Division athletes also will complete the Rx WODs. Both team members must be at least 40 years of age on the date of the competition.
Registration can be completed online. Waivers may be completed online or at registration. However, all waivers must be completed and signed before athletes can compete.
The registration fee is for a team of two.
$120 per Team – May 05 through June 30
$150 per Team – July 01 through July 05 (registration deadline)
First Responder Teams will have a separate discount.
$80 per Team – May 05 through registration deadline
Affiliate Registration Challenge
The affiliate that registers the most athletes will win a prize (to be determined). Congratulations to last year’s winner – CrossFit Ammo!
There will be a free parking area for athletes and guests. In addition, there will be an athlete area where you may setup a tent and or chairs. The event is being held in summer, so feel free to bring a cooler and whatever food and drinks you need or want. Details to these areas will be provided later when the workouts are revealed.
The Dallas Five Throwdown is seeking sponsors. Businesses that register for a $500 sponsorship receive a free registration for 1 team. Sponsorship includes an opportunity to have your business logo on the event t-shirt and a tent at the event. In addition, 4 WOD sponsors are needed. For $1,000, businesses get their name attached to one of the four workouts in which the athletes will compete along with the other sponsor benefits.
The Dallas Five Throwdown is seeking food vendors too. Food sponsors can have a location to set up a food truck or food area for $250. In-kind donations are welcome also. For more information, contact Taylor Cook at email@example.com.
